Welcome to the Black Ink blog!


I am Laurie Brown, the owner of Black Ink Accounting. I've been working with computerized accounting systems for about 13 years. I started Black Ink Accounting in May 2005, it was a pretty scary experience - I was fairly new to Ottawa and I had been out of the work world for about 7 years while I raised my daughters.

Currently I work with a variety of businesses - a lawyer, a custom car mechanic, a seniors companion service. I started doing books in the construction industry, working for the family business so I have a lot of experience in that area.

I will be sharing ideas for making your business better, giving some info on working with your bookkeeper or accountant, links to things I find interesting, and a random thought or two.
